Dark Runes – Dark Runes are one of the most sought-after items in the game. They’re also required for certain quests, and they’re also valued for their mana-restoring properties. They’re dropped by various mobs in Scholo, including the Necromancers.

Essence of Water – The Essence of Water item can be acquired in Felwood by defeating the Toxic Horror mobs, which have a very high drop rate, making this item a good way to make some quick money.
Larval Acid – These items can sometimes sell for about 10 gold, so they’re another good choice. They’re dropped by slug mobs in the Eastern Plaguelands. They drop Larval Acid at a pretty decent rate, so this grind can be very profitable.

Stonescale Eels – Stonescale Eels are one of the best items you can get by using the Fishing skill. You can get them at the coasts of Kalimdor – they seem to be easiest to find at night. They sell for about 1 gold apiece.

Selling at the Auction House
There are a few ways to get the most out of selling at the Auction House, which is the best way to make money from these special items. The best way to get a feel for how the Auction House works is simply to observe. Once you’ve spent enough time watching, you’ll have some idea of how pricing and demand work there.

The first rule to keep in mind is that it doesn’t help to price your items too high or too low. When selling items, the auction system will automatically suggest a price, and you can then use your discretion as to whether you’d like to keep it there, or set it a little lower or higher. You can make the most money by selling during your server’s busiest time of day. Conversely, the fewer people are active at a given time, the less likely you’ll be to get a good price for your items.

Another good idea is to avoid selling too many similar items at once. Even though it might seem convenient to get rid of all your items at once, you’ll negate some of the benefit of grinding by doing this. If you have multiples of a particularly valuable item, be sure to sell them one at a time.

This way, you’ll get the best possible price every time.
Seriously undercutting prices is considered a bit of a faux pas at the Auction House. It might seem convenient at times, but it’s much more worthwhile to hold onto your items and sell them at a better opportunity, rather than undercutting other sellers just to get your items sold. This hurts the market for items, and won’t earn you any goodwill from other players. You’ll benefit more in the end by selling at higher prices.
